Die cut printing is done at our company by a printing process where you cut an object out of a sheet of paper using a steel rule die. The die has cutting rules that when applied to the sheet of paper with the right amount of force will cut out the desired object. This die cut printing process is used to produce door hangers, pocket folders, etc

Creating dies is a very time consuming and hard work. The die has to be designed in such a way so that it efficiently cuts the desired material with minimal waste. Most factories which use die cut printing as part of their manufacturing process have techniques for recycling material left over from die cut printing. Often, multiple dies are fitted together on one mount, combined with each other for maximum efficiency. Material left over from the die cut printing process may be melted down and reused.
